Thanks to a thunderstorm and rain, a late start. First stop is a visit to the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte. Expositions of wirthaus, and Bavaria through time including Ludwig II and the wars. (“I wish to remain an eternal enigma to myself and to others”). Afterwards we visit Ludwig I’s Walhalla, constructed in 1842, by boat along the Danube. A fierce climb but well worthwhile. The heroes looked pleased there was no obligation to continue fighting for the gods. In the evening we eat at the Thai resto in the middle of Haendelplatz.
