Friday 13th – a suitably great day!
Brilliant evening catching a 530pm coach for the Grafenegg Festival. Proseccos in an open-air bar, loose wander on the lawn, then to the open-air concert auditorium for the opening event, Verdi’s Requiem. A cloudless sky made the evening perfect, with a gas/cloud/swarm of hot air balloons above.
Although there was no choir (covid infection), the soloists were world-class: Krassimira Stoyanova, Clémentine Margaine, Piotr Beczała, Rene Pape. Conductor was Yutaka Sado.
Earlier in the day we visited the Diglas cafe in Turkenschranz Park, hunted cards and shopped in Spar nearby.
