Red Vienna
On Thursday off we head off to an exhibition on better housing in Waschsalon 2 of the infamous Karl Marx Hof at Heiligenstadt. All in German but still interesting.

On Sunday I took part in the Charity Run at Türkenschanz park. 5 loops were enough! Photos were heavily censored as the couple Mungo took of me running suggested I was dying. The best part were the green sunglasses in…
Off into the high city by bus and tram for a free visit to this Haus. Very entertaining.
We remember this charming cafe and make a special pilgrimage despite intermittent rain. Truly a jewel. The 2 statues with lights once graced Nureyev’s bed posts, the mirrors are the largest in Europe. The coffee is pretty good too.
Back in Vienna since Saturday, we venture out on Wed to this museum at Berggasse 19. Very interesting, thankfully small. There is also a fascinating exhibition there of surreal art, including works by Dali, Ernst, Magritte, de Chirico, Picasso.
Delicious pizzas at Scarabocchio on Thursday followed by a walk alongside Parliament to catch a tram home; odd contemporary art at Belvedere 22 and a bike ride to Wieninger am Nußdorf on Friday. Türkenschanz on Saturday, Augustinerkirche on Sunday with…
Time for another epic ride, via Nußdorf and Kahlenberg to Klosters, and then back along the Danube. Superb weather, testing out another cellphone holder (German engineering, brilliant).
Today was off to Salzburg to see my two other odd birds Maria and Regina. They went off to Salzburger Festspiele and I with cheeky Heinz to Triangel. Lots of fun, wonderful weather and crazy mood!
On Sunday I return, whilst Mungo also leaves the Lobbies to stay with Antoinette until Wednesday. She wants to catch Peter and Zitu. On Thursday we go to Cafe Bellaria, which is in new hands and totally redone. On Friday…
On Saturday 13th we catch the slow train to Pörtschach with the bikes, after a choreographed process to bring them down to Greifenburg earlier and check out how to catch the train. A pleasant and easy trip follows. Harald awaits…
Yesterday we headed to Irschen and up the steep hill to Bergheimat, where at 1600m a very tasty frigga awaited us at the rustic and busy Alm pub. On the way down we stopped at the Krauter Haus in Irschen…
A weekend with sun but then overcast. Worth spending a bit of time at Tschatchie while open on Saturday. Then on Sunday we go to Buschenschank Hupfa again for brettljause and fine wines!
We celebrate the afternoon before with lachstorte and pink bubbles. Then on the 5th we meet up at Ronackerfels for a bite. Meanwhile a bike trip to Weisse Wand.
