Yesterday we headed to Irschen and up the steep hill to Bergheimat, where at 1600m a very tasty frigga awaited us at the rustic and busy Alm pub. On the way down we stopped at the Krauter Haus in Irschen to see if there were any gifts. Worth adding that we chased round ÖBB stations fruitlessly, to send the bikes to Pörtschach.
Today the gals go to Ronackerfels, I bike slowly to Bodenalm past Paterspitz. A tough endless uphill, but it gave me my Andy Warhol 5 minutes of fame, arriving at the top to claps and shout of “Gute Leistung” and “Respekt”. All was worth it for the pretty Alm. On the way back my view is obstructed by a Lamborghini, but a few Stiegls at nearby Tschatcheleria soon help me forget such outrages.
On Sunday we took a chance with the weather and went to Buschenschank Hupfa. Excellent!
