Another slow day, crowned by the scraping of old paint from the deck table. But around 230pm we escaped by 35 bus to Neustift and this heurigen. Brilliant buntzen, punsch krapfen and florentiner in a beautiful garden. Such is life!

As Mungo’s leg plays up we take it easy. First coffee and nibbles in Kutscher Markt as Mungo picks up glasses and so on. Later I wander up to Turkenschanz and then enjoy spritzes at Diglas.
John and I collect ebikes from Tourism office (Anna) and then ride to St Georgen am See. Visit the stift. Beautiful weather. Mungo meanwhile did an entrepreneur seminar with the Chamber of Commerce in Klagenfurt. Catch 139pm train to Vienna.
Yes, to see Gustav Mahler’s composing hut (closed) and carry on to Reifnitz. Without a mask, and not using a map at key points. Walking on the south of the lake utterly boring!
Mungo and Harald walk up hill, later I go around Pörtschach and the promenade. A beautiful day for lazying on the lawn after lunch. Harald leaves for Vienna, then around 7pm we meet at Lake’s bar.
Trude drives us to catch 854am train, arriving 2 hours later at Pörtschach. Maria awaits, and off to Wienerroither where we sit at separate tables! Next to Seevilla Elli, and Harald and Heide are in good form. After lunch an…
Puff up the long slope from Neusach and reach the trail running along the lake. Keep going to Dolomiten Blick where arrive in time to catch the 1230 Alpensee, €12, back to Techendorf. Then hang around Tschacheleria until time to…
Yes, the weather is just amazing, so we rush off via Heiligenblut to the lookout, after stopping off briefly at an old resto after the toll. We walk through the longest and dankest of tunnels to reach Franz-Joseph-Höhe path. Only…
Yes, a true moment of history. Laurence insists on inviting us to lunch at Hotel Nagglerhof. A marvellous table in the sun overlooking the lake, and delicious food. Just sorry it all ended, and off went Larry on the train.…
Off to Naggler Alm by bike, meeting the Tricky Trio up there after they grazed the surrounding area for berries. Hütte very full but we found a spot, consuming various soups and salads. Back down by bike, complain about its…
John arrives 1130am. After brief hellos we go to the chair lift, head up and then walk to Mittelsnoch. There a few people resting. We turn back and back at the Naggler Alm order speck jause and frankies. Meanwhile Trude…
Yes, this place is great. Walked there after midday and we ordered kaiserschmaren and a salad. Rain suddenly came but we waited out with capuccinos. Quick Spar visit before walking home just before the rain started again. Good timing!
